Minister: (World acknowledges Pakistan’s successes in war on terror: Kh Asif)

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that successes achieved in the war on terror have earned improved image of Pakistan abroad.

In an interview, he said the world has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

To a question, the minister said Pakistan wants easing of tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the initiative taken by Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has been lauded at international level.

He, however, said Pakistan will stand by Saudi Arabia in any threat to its territory or sovereignty. To another question, he said both Pakistan and India are trying to build trust, but it will take time.
