Bahawalpur: Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Malik Mohammad Iqbal Channar has said that Provincial government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would resolve the longstanding demands of the employees of Public Relations Department Punjab while two vehicles will be provided to Public Relations Department Punjab Bahawalpur office and Additional Director General Public Relations Punjab, and vacant posts will be filled in Multan to facilitate journalists fraternity .
This was announced by him while delivering presidential address in Public Relations Society of
Pakistan (PRSP) convention and governing council’s oath taking ceremony held in the premises of divisional public relations office Bahawalpur in which Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Dr Syed Waseem Akhter MPA was the guest of honour while Director Information Bahawalpur Division
Ejaz Ahmed Ghauri,Director Bahawalpur Art Council Riazul Haq Bhatti, Deputy Director Nasir Hameed besides senior journalists, press club Bahawalpur office- bearers, officials of information department of Bahawalpur, RahimYar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts and PRSP office bearers hailing from different districts of South Punjab were also present.
Punjab Minister said that he was serving as minister since last seven years but neither he was approached and nor he received any demand from Public Relations Department so far but now in this convention a long list of the demands had been presented in welcome address.
Malik Iqbal Channar said that he was serving the masses of South Punjab with dedication and struggling for the promotion of Seraiki language. Due to his efforts, Seraiki department was reopened in Islamia University Bahawalpur and 35 MA Seraiki degree holders provided jobs through Public Service Commission.
Minister disclosed that on his demand Punjab government has included Seraiki as subject in school syllabus while Cholistani students will get pretty news soon and they would be accommodated in government jobs with a fixed quota .
He congratulated newly elected president press club Bahawalpur Amin Basit and asked him to expel bad reputed journalists from press so that yellow and ‘lifafa’ journalism be discouraged. He greeted newly elected office bearers of Public Relations Society of Pakistan and assured his full support regarding betterment of public relations department’s officials and improvement of public relations department’s functioning throughout Punjab.
Earlier he administrated the oath from newly office bearers of the governing council of Public Relations Society of Pakistan (PRSP).
President PRSP Dr Nadeem Nasim presented welcome address and demanded the immediate appointments of directors against vacant posts at four divisional offices of Sargodha, Multan, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi, besides up gradation of advertisement section of public relations department Bahawalpur with the creation of new posts of deputy director and accounts officer advertisement and assisting staff.
He also demanded to end the discrimination regarding the promotion of 63 stenographers of public relations department Punjab to rank of superintendent and allocations of plots in the housing schemes established in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan under the auspices of Punjab Journalists Housing Foundation. Later on Founder President PRSP Jam Ghulam Asghar,District Information Bahawalpur Nauman Masood Khan and President Bahawalpur Union of Journalists Abdul Majeed Gill also spoke.
