KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed home department to submit a Joint Investigation Team’s report regarding the whereabouts of Jamil Ahmed who is missing since July 2015.
On Thursday’s hearing, IO appeared before the court and submitted that hectic efforts are underway for the recovery of a missing person. The court directed the home department to submit a JIT report and tell the court about the whereabouts of Jamil within two weeks.
SHC bench headed by Irfan Saadat was hearing a petition filed by missing man’s wife Kausar who sought the whereabouts of her husband.
The petitioner stated that her husband was serving as an agent at a private agency and has no criminal record. He went missing when he was on his way back to home on 30th July 2015, the family members of Jamil approached all the relevant authorities but were unable to know his whereabouts.
After tracing his mobile phones, they came to know that his mobile phone was traced near Hotel Metropole on 31st July but since then his mobile is not tracing. The petitioner alleged that her husband must be in law enforcement agencies’ detention but they are not disclosing Jamil’s arrest.
Kausar submitted that law enforcement agencies may have some information about her husband as he is not physically fit and suffering from heart disease.
She prayed to the court to direct the respondents to produce her husband before the court.
