KARACHI: Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) Sindh President Asadullah Bhutto and General Secretary Qazi Ahmed Noorani on Monday condemned the exhibition of movies on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal in the Markaz-e-Islami, Block-7, FB Area and demanded to arrest those involved in this matter and give them punishment.
In the statement, the leaders said that by exhibiting of objectionable movies on the sacred day of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal, the accused trampled the sanctity of the day and also hurt the feelings of Karachiites.
They regretted that the Markaz-e-Islami, a precious asset of Karachi, which was constructed in remembrance of the 15th Hijri of Islamic calendar, is occupied by some people who are violating codes of law and ethics. They said the accused had tried to remove the calligraphic works of Kalma and Quranic verses from the building. They said these people are making illegally a marriage hall in the centre.
The leaders of MYC’s demanded of the authorities to restore the original status of the centre and immediately end the activities of exhibiting movies and illegal construction.
They warned the administrator Karachi that if the KMC failed to stop these illegal, unethical activities and o restore the original status of the building they would strongly protest against the KMC.
