Moot: (Heart of Asia Istanbul Process reflects strong support for peace in Afghanistan: Afghan FM)

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz has said that Heart of Asia Istanbul Process has supported the Afghan-owned reconciliation process for lasting peace and stability in that country.

He was addressing a news conference along with Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani here on Wednesday. The adviser said the conference also supported return of Afghan refugees in Pakistan to their country with dignity.

Afghan Foreign Minister said the conference has adopted Islamabad Declaration which reflected strong support by the world countries for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Earlier, in his remarks at the conclusion of the conference, Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan desires collective efforts for peace in Afghanistan. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani have common vision about peace and stability in the region.

The Adviser thanked the participants for taking goals of Heart of Asia forward at the conference. Afghan Foreign Minister said effective steps are needed to be taken against terrorism and organized crimes.

He said the Afghan government will introduce further reforms for better governance in the country to check crimes and corruption.
