Moot held to save airplanes from birds

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui said on Monday that to steer away birds from surroundings of airport all the departments of the city along the owners of marriage lawns should work collectively, so that, a permanent solution to the safety of airplanes could be ensured.

He said this while addressing a meeting with the representatives of Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), District Municipal Corporations and other citizenry organizations. The meeting was held following the instruction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in which he asked citizenry organizations to find a permanent solution to safeguard precious lives and airplanes of Masroor Base and Faisal Base.

“Cleanliness in surrounding areas should be made better to save airport from birds,” Farooqui said.

Next meeting would be held in this regard at the central office of KMC at Civic Centre. Which would be attended by the representatives of Pakistan Air Force, cantonment boards, metropolitan departments and marriage lawns.
