More than 52000 driving licenses issued 40 days

KARACHI: As many as 40,552 leaner and 12,044 permanent driving licences have been issued from all three branches of Karachi Licence Department including Korangi, Nazimabad and Clifton branches from November 2 to till date in the metropolis, said the DIG Karachi Licence Department Aftab Pathan on Saturday.

Talking to PPI, DIG said they had brought enormous reforms in issuing licences to new drivers and ensured 100% transparency in the department.

He said the rush at all three branches has decreased as compared to last month but there is still dire need of establishing new branches in remaining districts of Karachi so that they could tackle the rush of driving license applicants.

He informed that a large number of learner licences had been issued to the new drivers while only 2460 permanent licences were issued to private drivers, 404 commercial, 8838 renewal of licences, 282 duplicate and other 60 in different categories.
