KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Gayan Chand Esrani said on Thursday Registration Wing for Motor Vehicles of Excise Department should be set on modern lines in which people could get benefit from more facilities.
He expressed his views while meeting with officers of registration wing. He said the system of revenue recovery should be computerized in which the customers should be provided one window facilities and with that it was necessary to provide information to customers through SMS service like tracking system as they could know that how much steps their vehicle has passed.
Few days before, while visiting the Department of Excise and Taxation established in Civic Center, he issued the instructions to officers that the papers of vehicles and motorcycles should be handed over to owners within 10 days.
Esrani instructed that officers and constables should be dressed in uniform and all staff should ensure presence in office by 9 AM.
He said if any officer or constable is found guilty for negligence while performing departmental affairs, departmental action would be taken against him.
