MoU Signing Ceremony between DUHS and DICE for health innovation collaboration

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi in collaboration with Distinguished Innovation, Collaboration and Entrepreneurship (DICE) USA is organizing a 2-day first ever All Pakistan DUHS – DICE Health Exhibition from August 21st to 22nd August at Expo Center, Karachi.

Today on 20th August 2015, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah alongwith Prof. Masood Hameed Khan, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shaikh Nadeem Ahmed, Registrar and Prof. Rana Qamar and senior faculty members of the University inaugurated National Institute of Liver & GI Diseases (NILGID) & Foundation Stone Laying of Trauma Center at Dow University. A MoU Signing Ceremony between DUHS and DICE (USA) for Health Innovation Collaboration was also held in presence of Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah sharing his views on the occasion said that it is glad to know that overseas Pakistani settled in USA want to help Pakistanis by transfer of technology they have acquired in USA. This transfer of technology will provide an opportunity to utilize important scientific knowledge for commercial production in Pakistan to help our people with technologies of developed world at very low cost. The Government of Pakistan is trying its best to provide health care services. With transfer of technologies from USA by DICE, our brilliant Pakistani technologists and scientist with the help of our business community will be able to provide latest machines and equipments at very low cost. I am really glad that Dow University and DICE have opened an office also to have continuous collaboration for success in Health Innovation and its proper utilization.

Prof. Masood Hameed Khan informed that since long oversea Pakistani working in the field of medical and biomedical are willing to bring health related innovations and technologies to Pakistan. To foster culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the country, Dow University organized this 2-day Exhibition is combine blend of competition, scientific sessions and continued medical education program. Student working in the field of Medical, Engineering, Biomedical will be will be showcasing their projects. The Dow University will also showcase its innovations. The Exhibition will motivate professionally educated youth to generate innovative ideas and utilize currently available state of art technologies and software, for practically possible development of health related products and services.
