Murder accused awarded life imprisonment

KARACHI: A Session Court on Monday awarded life imprisonment to a man, Naimat Khan, for killing Irfan Ali.

An Additional District & Session Judge East found Khan guilty of killing Irfan Ali in 2008 within the jurisdiction of Soldier Bazar police station. The judge pronounced the verdict after recording witnesses’ statements, evidences and arguments from both sides. The court observed that charges against the accused proved without any shadow of doubt.

According to the prosecution, the convict, along with his absconding accomplices Matloob Khan and Haroon, was involved in killing Irfan Ali on 28th December 2008 within the limits of soldier Bazar police station.

The court also ordered the convict to pay Rs 100,000 compensation to deceased’s family. The the convict will have to undergo an additional six-month imprisonment if he fails to pay the compensation amount.
