KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Saturday remanded an accused, Syed Ahmed Hasan, to police custody till 18 October 2014 murder case. Police produced the accused before ATC-I judge under tight security.
Investigation officer requested the court to allow the physical remand of the accused under-detention as the police wanted to investigate him further so that the whereabouts of his absconding accomplices, Kashif, Abbas, Khan Saab and Rehan, could be known and they could be arrested. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 18 October.
According to prosecution, accused was involved in murder of Dr Naseem Jafery that took place on 27 August 2014 within the jurisdiction Korangi Industrial Area police station.
Accused was already arrested in explosives material case under case FIR 369/14.
The case FIR 346/2014 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Korangi Industrial Area police station.
