NA: (Metro Bus project completed at cost of Rs44b: NA told)

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on Tuesday that Metro Bus Project completed at a cost of Rs 44 billion will start functioning by the end of next month.

This was stated by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad while responding to a call attention notice moved by Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho and others.

He said the project would basically faciliate poor masses and about 1, 53, 000 people will travel through Metro buses daily. Meanwhile, the House rejected “The Indus River System Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2015″ after the Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali opposed it.

The bill was moved by Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani. The chair referred “The Law Reforms (Amendment) Bill, 2015″ to the Standing Committee concerned. It was moved by Mohammad Ayaz Soomro.
