NA: (NA passes unanimous resolution)

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution reiterating the resolve to protect supremacy of the constitution, parliament and Islamic democratic identity of the country.

The resolution moved by Maulana Fazlur Rehman termed the report of inquiry commission on 2013 general elections and Supreme Court’s verdict on 18th and 21st constitution amendments as historic.

The resolution said this house is the symbol of Allah Amighty’s rule, people’s right of rule and supremacy of constitution and democracy.

The resolution lauded the political parties, members of the parliament, national media and the people of Pakistan who played historic role in the hour of trial for the sanctity of the constitution, democracy and parliament.

It said the house is also the symbol of Pakistan’s defense, security, unity and solidarity and the federation. Protecting the sanctity and dignity of this house is the duty of every Pakistani, particularly those political parties which represent the public mandate in the house.
