ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that no foreign security agency is allowed to operate in the country.
He was speaking in the National Assembly on Thursday. The Interior Minister ruled out presence of Blackwater or any foreign intelligence agency in Islamabad.
He said terrorists are on the run as a result of massive interaction among Interior Ministry, law enforcement agencies, provincial governments and military.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said strict action has been taken to curb corruption in the Ministry of Interior. He said thousands of officials of civil armed forces have been withdrawn from VVIP security and placed them to protect lives of the common citizens.
During the question hour, the Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid said the government believes in zero tolerance against corruption. He said NAB recovered over 7504 million rupees and authorized 2113 inquiries, 900 investigations and filed 752 references.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said funds have been allocated for the construction of various roads under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said Lahore-Karachi Motorway will be completed in 30 months at a cost of 680 billion rupees.
Replying to a calling attention notice, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Mohammad Afzal Khan said Pakistan’s economy is one of the emerging economies of the world.
He said foreign exchange reserves, banking and energy sectors are showing improvement and inflation is going down. He said the government has passed on maximum benefits of decline in oil prices to the consumers.
