NA: (Outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan calls on NA Speaker)

ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan Mr. Dashgin called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq here in Parliament House, on Monday.

While talking to the Ambassador, the Speaker appreciated contributions of the Ambassador in bringing Pakistan and Azerbaijan more closer. The Speaker said that Pakistan values its close brotherly relations with Azerbaijan that are based on historic, cultural and religious commonalities.

The Speaker said that the support, both the countries extend to each other on different issues and forums was a manifestation of strong ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He appreciated Azerbaijani support to Pakistan on the principled stand of Kashmir.

The Speaker appreciated the Ambassador for his efforts in facilitating Azerbaijani business community to visit Pakistan for exploring further avenues of cooperation in diverse fields.

The Ambassador thanked the Speaker for his remarks and said that he had received affection and cooperation from the Government and people of Pakistan during his posting in Pakistan.

He said that government and people of Azerbaijan greatly value their friendship with Pakistan. He said that Azerbaijan and Pakistan share same views on various matter including Kashmir issue and would continue extending its support on regional and international foras.

He said that legislature of Azerbaijan strongly desires to strengthen its ties with Pakistan through parliamentary cooperation.
