NAB Files Reference against Gulzar Ali, Ex-Secretary to Chairman, HERA

Peshawar: NAB (KP) today filed a formal reference of Rs. 3.746 Million against Gulzar Ali Ex-Secretary to Chairman Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) in the Accountability Court Peshawar.

NAB (KP) authorized an inquiry against Gulzar Ali Ex-Secretary to Chairman Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) and others on 12.03.2014, allegedly involved in embezzlement of public money by depositing the same in his personal bank account. Later on, the inquiry was converted into investigation on 18.08.2014.

The accused person destroyed/concealed the office record to hide this embezzlement. HERA being unable to recover the looted money requested the NAB (KP) to conduct an inquiry against the accused and recover the money so embezzled.

It is worth mentioning here that Gulzar Ali was arrested by NAB (KP) on 03.06.2014 and currently is on bail granted by Peshawar High Court since 23.07.2014.
