QUETTA: National Forum on “Strengthening Ombudsman System”

Was organized to further activate and making the system effective so that people get quick justice.

This was stated by Balochistan Ombudsman Abdul Wasay Tareen while addressing the national forum and speaking to reporter here Monday.

National Forum was organised by Governance Support Project Balochistan.

It was attended by civil society, Federal Tax Ombudsman Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, Ombudsman AJK, VC Women University, Justice Nadir, Senator (R ) Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Maulana Haqqani and others.

He said 2013 reform ordinance was further amended to make it further effective.

He said at today’s gathering a number of good suggestions were put forth. These suggestions would be submitted to the provincial government for implementation.

He said an international expert Dr Frank also shared his experience with the participants at the forum.

He appreciated Governance Support Project for providing expertise and providing training and fund. He said GSP was computerizing our record, providing funds and training.

Earlier Mohammad Zaman Coordinator Governance Support Project said that seminar would help create pillars of transparency, answerable, rule of law among the people. It would be a great achievement. He asked them to inform their institutions of these reforms which would in turn benefit people making their lives easy.

Zaman Khan said we have also installed toll free number to help people form far flung areas to contact Ombudsman’s establishment. It has started work. He asked people to take benefit from this facility. He said GSP has assured of all support.
