Nine, including journalist killed, three injured in city violence

KARACHI: Five people include four members of a family were killed and two others injured in separate violence incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday.

Four members of a family, Tariq, 43, son of Khuda Bakhsh, his wife, Samina, 40, his teenage son, Saad, 15, daughter, Romesa, 13, were stabbed to death, while his another son, six-year-old Hammad sustain injuries near Allahwali Masjid at street No 13, sector H in Manzoor Colony Mehmoodabad. The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsies and treatment, respectively.

25-year-old unidentified youth was gunned down by unknown armed men in Razzaqabad. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

A senior Journalist, Aftab Alam, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in North Karachi Sector 11 C, Sir Syed Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, Imram, 40 and Waqar, 45 both sons of Iqbal, residents of North Karachi Sector 5, were shot dead by un-identified gunmen near Peela School in north Karachi area. The bodies were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy. The sources said both were returning from bakery when they were targeted. Separately, an unknown 12 years of boy, was gunned down by unknown armed men in Fish Market, Patel Para. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities. A man belonging from Hindu Community, indentified as Aakash, 25, son of Dileep, was shot and injured by unknown miscreants near Fich Market, Patel para.

Yet in another incident, a youth, Baseer, 25, son of Khalil, was shot and injured by unidentified gunmen in Al Asif Square area of Sohrab Goth. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
