Notice taken of escape of prisoners

KARACHI: Inspector General of Jails Police Sindh Nusrat Manghan on Wednesday took notice of escape of prisoners from District Malir Jail and suspended six jail officials.

According to spokesperson, Manghan also ordered the inquiry into the incident and suspended Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Hussain Sehto, Assistant Superintendent Kamran, Assistant Superintendent Ishtiaq Awan, Head Constable Ghulam Sarwar, Constable Sohbat Ali, and Constable Abid Ali.

He said that on 17 June 2014, during the daily counting process at the jail, police realized that three prisoners were missing. However, one of them was captured and two others hid in the jail, and later rearrested. He said that the accused were identified as Danyal, Zakir Hussain and Sardar Tahir.
