Nursing students stage protest demo

KARACHI: Pakistan Joint Action Nursing Committee held a protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club on Monday against non-issuance of nursing certificates to male students.

The male nursing students of School of Nursing Lyari, School of Nursing Liaquatabad, School of Nursing Korangi and other institutions under banner of Pakistan Joint Action Nursing Committee staged the protest demonstration against non-issuance of their nursing certificates by Pakistan Nursing Council and Nursing Examination Board from last several years.

The protestors said they are not being issued PNC certificates or licenses for last several years due to late registration of certain institutions. They said sthey are unable to apply for jobs and are facing great hardships.

The nursing students were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different  slogans like issue certificates of nursing students, stop justice and inquiry against assistant director nursing over her anti-student polices.

President Pakistan Joint Action Nursing Committee Mehral while talking to PPI said the attitude of Assistant Director Nursing is non-cooperative. He demanded of the Chief Minister Sindh, Health Minister and Secretary Health to release stipends of students, and issue PNCs certificates to nursing students.
