One alleged target killer among six arrested in raids

KARACHI: Gulshan-e-Iqbal police on Thursday claimed to have arrested one target killer among six criminals and recovered weapons from their possession.

According to a police report, Deputy Inspector General Zone East Muneer Ahmed Shaikh and Senior Superintendent of Police District East Pir Mohammad Shah gave a special task to Station House Officer Gulshan-e-Iqbal Inspector Shabeer Ahmed Awan, who along with a police party raided five different areas of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and arrested an alleged target killer Tariq alias Khyal, with his pistol.

Police claimed that arrested target killer had confessed to killing Sub-Inspector Haider Bhatti within the limits of Shahrah-e-Noorjahan police station and social worker Saleem Kohistani within the jurisdiction of Manghopir police station and others citizens.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police also arrested five other criminals identified as Mehboob Ali, Syed Adeel, Jamsheed Ahmed, Mujeebur Rrehman, and Jamsheed Khan in separate raids. Police also recovered five pistols, five magazines, 24 rounds and snatched goods from their possessions.

Arrested accused were involved in dozens of street crimes and robbery cases, police said.
