One fire fighter killed, other injured in road mishap

Karachi: A sub fire officer was killed and five other fire fighters were injured when a fire brigade vehicle overturned on Super Highway here on Tuesday.

According to sources, the accident took place on Super Highway near Tool Plaza in Gadap town when an over speeding fire brigade vehicle turned turtle. In the accident, a Sub Fire Officer Kaleem Ahmed, aged about 45, a resident of Malir area, died on the spot, while five other fire fighters, Masood, 38, Mohammad Azam, 30, Mohammad Aqeel, Zeeshan, and driver Nishat were injured.

The body and injured were shifted to Liaquat National Hospital Karachi NHK for an autopsy and treatment, respectively. The victim was handed over to heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.
