One killed, four injured in mishaps

KARACHI: Four people, including two young boys, died and eight others were injured in different incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday.

A youth, aged about 25, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him in New Karachi No. 7. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

A 35-year-old unidentified man was killed when a train overran him in Railway Line near Street No. 3, Mehmoodabad. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

A youth, Zeeshan, 22, son of Noor Khan, was electrocuted during work at

Kabari Market in Banaras area. The body was taken to ASH for an autopsy.

Two young boys Abbas eight-year-old and Maaz six-year-old, died of electrocution at Badar Chowk, Keamari. The bodies were shifted to a nearby private hospital. Later, bodies were handed over to the heirs.

In another road mishap, three persons, Amir, 30, son of Mohammad Sharif, Yar Mohammad, 25, son of Bakhtiar and Allah Dad, 18, son of Gulbadin, a resident of Metroville, were critically injured when a speeding vehicle hit them near Alflah Bank in Orangi No. 5. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Yet in another accident, a youth, Arsalan, 25, was injured when a vehicle hit him near Imam Bargah at Numaish Chowrangi. He was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Four persons, Husain, 27, Meerullah, 45, Mohammad Ali, 30, and Ali Khan, 25, were injured when the lift of a building fell in New Karachi Industrial Area. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
