KARACHI: A One Window Facilitation Desk was opened at Jinnah International Airport Karachi here on Thursday.
In a bid to provide relief to overseas Pakistanis and solve their problems at Pakistani airports, Federal Ombudsman, M. Salman Faruqui today inaugurated One Window Facilitation Desk at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.
Accompanied by Hafiz Ahsan Ahmad Khokhar, Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis & Registrar/Advisor Law Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, Manzar Jamal Siddiqui Dy DG CAA, Sohail Chohan Principle Director Airport Services CAA, Amir Mehboob, Director Airport Services and Zafar Etemad, Airport Manager JIAP Karachi.
Faruqui inaugurated the third of its kind that is followed by Islamabad and Lahore.
Briefing on the occasion, Hafiz Khokhar told that several ministries and division have been taken on board for resolution of the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis including; Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion DY DG CAA Manzar Jamal Siddiqui told the journalists that to provide the best facilities to passengers, Airlines and all organizations and agencies working at all CAA Airports is the main objective of CAA and CAA will continue to enhance the facilities with the passage of time.
Manzar Jamal Siddiqui, Dy DG CAA thanked the Federal Ombudsman on behalf of Capt. Shujaat Azeem, Advisor to PM on Aviation, Mohammad Ali Gardezi, Secretary Aviation, Mr. Amjad Ali Toor, DG CAA and ensure that CAA will provide all possible help to all organizations and agencies working at airport to continue with this one window facilitation desk facility at JIAP and other Airports to overseas Pakistani travelers.
He said that Honorable Federal Ombudsman has taken special initiative for overseas Pakistanis and established Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis under Section 7 of Federal Ombudsmen Institutional Reforms ACT, 2013.
Giving details, Federal Ombudsman said that the main objective of the appointment of Grievance Commissioner for expatriates was to evolve online complaint handling mechanism of the resolution of individual and collective problems of overseas Pakistanis here in Pakistan and abroad as well.
Hafiz Ahsan Ahmad Khokhar further added that suggestion boxes will be placed all over the airport and also in One Window Facilitation Desk. A special brochure also will be provided to the travelling overseas Pakistanis who will be given the necessary information regarding the countries they will be travelling.
He maintained that the Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis has taken an initiative to provide facility to Overseas Pakistanis by creating a one stop complaints management system with the technical support of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Ministry of IT. Complaints management system will be developed for registration and tracking of complaints, he added.
This is the first step ever taken by any Ombudsman of the World for Overseas. It would help millions of Pakistanis to resolve their issues here in Pakistan and in their respective countries, he apprised.
