Operation in Karachi to continue till citizens feel them secure: Nawaz Sharif

KARACHI: Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif here Wednesday said that the operation in Karachi would continue till the end of lawlessness in the city, as peace in Karachi is a must for national economy.

Addressing a gathering at the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) said that the image of Pakistan has improved in the world. He said the government wants to promote investment in the country. He said we have suffered losses of billions due to terrorism and we would fight the terrorists to the bitter end.

He said due to the ongoing operation he cases of targeted killings, extortion and kidnapping for ransom in Karachi have decrease. He said the operation would continue till the citizens feel themselves safe and secure. He said the federal government is fully cooperating with the provincial government of Sindh for brining peace in Karachi.

He said the government is focusing to improve the energy supply situation and Dasu and Bunji dams would produce 15 to 17 thousands megawatts of electricity. He said energy would also be produced from solar, coal and LNG sources. He said through long term planning the rates of electricity would be brought down.

He said Pakistan wants to have friendly relations with its neighbours including India and Afghanistan.
