ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 14% Pakistanis claim to have wished a ‘Merry Christmas’ to a Christian friend or neighbour this year.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “This year, did you wish a Christian friend or neighbour a merry Christmas?”
In response to this question 14% said yes, 85% said no and 1% gave other responses (e.g. the respondent is a Christian himself/herself).
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1883 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 04 – January 11, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately Â± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
