Opinion Poll: (64% Pakistanis claim to have been calm and relaxed the previous day: Survey)

ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, respondents were asked for their views regarding their previous day. 64% Pakistanis said that they felt very calm and relaxed the previous day.

A nationally representative sample of working men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Think about yesterday from beginning to end.

Where were you and what were you doing? Who was with you and how were you feeling at that time? Now give your opinion on the following: Were you very calm and relaxed yesterday? In response to this question, 64% said yes while 28% said no and 8% did not respond.

According to the provincial breakdown, an overwhelming majority of respondents from Balochistan (90%) said that they felt calm and relaxed the previous day while the same response was given by 67% respondents in Punjab, 66% in Sindh and a mere 36% in KPK.

Likewise, those who said that they did not feel calm and relaxed the previous day were highest in KPK at 37% followed by 30% in Sindh, 27% in Punjab and 7% in Balochistan.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1786 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 05 – October 12, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
