ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 65% Pakistanis said that Pakistani government should accept foreign aid for the affectees of earthquake on 26th October 2015.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “The recent earthquake in Pakistan [October 26, 2015] prompted foreign aid to Pakistani government, for the earthquake affectees. Some people say that Pakistani government should accept foreign aid for earthquake affectees, however others feel that Pakistan should not take aid from foreign sources. What is your opinion regarding this?”
In response to this question 65% said that Pakistan should accept foreign aid for earthquake affectees while 35% said that Pakistan should not take foreign aid.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1867 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during November 02 – November 09, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
