ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 83% Pakistanis believe that the implementation of National Action Plan has resulted in an improvement in peace in the country; 41% said that it had contributed ‘Very much’ and 42% said that it had ‘Somewhat’ contributed to peace.
A nationally representative sample of working men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “What are your thoughts on the National Action Plan which was implemented to put an end to terrorism and extremism?
Has it resulted in an improvement in maintenance of peace”. In response to this question, 41% said that it has ‘Very much’ led to an improvement in maintenance of peace, 42% said that it has ‘Somewhat’ contributed to peace, 11% said that it has contributed ‘Very little’ and 5% said that it has not contributed at all. 1% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1867 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during November 02 – November 09, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
