Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Mr. Abdolreza Rehmani Fazli called on the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at PM House. Mr. Tariq Fatmi special Assistant to PM, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Alireza Haghighian, Mr. A safari Member National Security & Foreign Affairs commission of Iranian Parliament Mr. Ausat Hashemi Governor General Sistan and Mr. Abdullahi Deputy PM Security and Administrative Affairs of Iran were also present in the meeting.
Prime Minister while welcoming the delegation said that Pakistan and Iran are bound by ties of religion, culture, history and geography.
Pakistan attaches great importance to its brotherly relations with Iran and seeking a peaceful neighbourhood remains a policy priority of government, PM added. Our commitment to this relationship is unequivocal and firm, PM said.
Underlining the importance of trade and investment PM said since economic and political relations are mutually reinforcing, we should place greater focus on strengthening our economic ties.
We need to promote strategies aimed at reinforcing synergies between our border regions through physical connectivity and joint border trade markets, PM added.
PM said that I look forward to my visit to Iran and meeting with President Rouhani. The visit will not only serve as a political affirmation of our brotherly relations, but would also set a new direction for their future course based on mutual trust, confidence and cooperative partnership.
