Pak-Norway trade to be further boosted: envoy

KARACHI: The ambassador of Norway Leif H Larsen has said that Pakistan and Norway enjoy close and warm relations, and efforts would be made to further boost bilateral trade and investment between the two friendly countries.

He was talking during a meeting with Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui of Diplomatic Call International and Afeef Group at his residence. He said that they had always taken steps to promote the brotherly relations with Pakistan. He said: “We are investing in Pakistan in telecommunication sector. We are interested in power generation and other sectors.”

He said trade and investment had got the position of backbone in economy of any country. He said we want to increase imports and exports between the two nations.

He said Norway is a beautiful country with a lot of tourist spots. He said tourists come to Norway from all over the world. Rashid Siddiqui, talking on the occasion, said there are vast opportunities of investment in Pakistan, especially in the sectors of telecommunication, power generation, engineering and infrastructure. He said with the exchange of trade delegations between Pakistan and Norway would open new doors of commerce, trade and investment in both the countries.

He invited the investors of Norway to come to Pakistan and invest in different sectors. He said it also needed to increase the volume of bilateral trade. He said the industrial exhibitions play an important role in booting commerce and the traders get opportunity to get their products introduced in other countries. Afeef Rashid, Syed Farrukh Mazhar, Rafiq Rangoonwala, Mohammad Asif and others were present.
