Pak Steel starts making 2mm hot-rolled coils

Karachi: Pakistan Steel has started manufacturing two millimeter thin profile hot-rolled coils for local market which would provide raw materials on low prices.

According to the Pakistan Steel spokesperson, the largest steel maker of the country has started making two millimeter hot-rolled coils for the requirement of local market and to increase sale of product.

It is pertinent to mention here that two millimeter hot-rolled coil was being used in the manufacturing of vehicles and steel pipe. Previously two millimeter hot-rolled was being imported which costs a large amount of country’s foreign exchange.

Spokesperson said that with 2mm hot-rolled coils Pakistan Steel would make 1.6 mm hot-rolled coils as well. The company was hopeful that these hot-rolled coils would help it to come through the financial crisis.
