Pak tennis quartet makes presence felt in Middle East

Karachi: A quartet of young Pakistani tennis players spearheaded by the talented Sahibzada Mohammad Ali has been making the country in recent weeks with their exploits in international events in the Middle East.

Playing in International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior ranking events at their own expense, the four players — Sahibzada Mohammad Ali, Haris Irfan, Nofil Kaleem and Mujahid – have managed to make their presence felt in the events in Lebanon and Jordan.

Sahibzada Ali has become Pakistan’s top-ranked player in the ITF rankings, having accumulated 22.5 points which makes him one of the most successful Pakistani junior player on the ITF circuit in recent years. Haris has scored 12.5 points, Nofil has managed 6.5 points while Mujahid has collected 2.5 points.

In a recent outing in Jordan, the duo of Sahibzada Ali and Haris reached the semi-finals of the doubles event. The ITF ranking event attracted players from across the globe.
