Islamabad: Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan has opened the first Pakistan-Central Europe Economic Cooperation Forum in Polish city of Katowice. Addressing a function on the occasion, he said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Poland and European Union.
He explained that Pakistan and Poland share common views on fight against terrorism, interfaith harmony and global peace and stability. Khurram said Pakistan is one of the fastest growing economies in south Asia, achieving a growth rate of about 5% in first quarter of Financial Year 2014.
Commerce Minister said Pakistan is committed to a market-based economy with the private sector leading the process of investment and growth. Minister of State for Polish Economy Tomasz Tomczykiewicz said Poland is considering a comprehensive package to increase trade with Pakistan. Khurram Dastgir also met Presidents and CEOs of leading Polish companies and invited them to invest in Pakistan.
