Karachi: Pakistan disabled cricket team pulled their third consecutive triumph against visiting Afghanistan counterparts, winning by 17 runs on Tuesday to record immaculate 3-0 series win in International Disability Cricket Series here at National Stadium.
Pakistan batted first and posted 164 for five and then restricted Afghanistan to 147 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.
Matloob Qureshi scored a brilliant half century off 35 balls with seven beautiful boundaries. Jahanzeb Tiwana made 44 off only 21 balls with six fours and a six. Arif Richard contributed 31 off 39 balls. Captain Hasnain Alam scored 18 runs.
Off Spinner Abdullah grabbed three wickets for 26 runs while medium pace skipper Nabi Ullah Nabi took two wickets for 25 runs.
In reply Afghanistan openers Mohammad Ashraf and Ubaid Ullah made a brilliant opening partnership 85 runs but they failed to save their team from third consecutive defeat in the series.
The team was eventually restricted to 147-7 in allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Ashraf scored 79 runs in 58 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes.
Left arm spinner Ameer Ahmed bowled superbly well and took three wickets only for nineteen runs while his fellow left armour Fayyaz Ahmed took 2-18.
The two teams will also play two-match ODI series, which begins February 26 here at NSK.
