Pakistani cueists fail to make to the IBSF World 6-Red Snooker Championship climax

Karachi: Pakistan cueists, Asjad Iqbal and Mohammad Asif, who is also a former world champion, failed to pass the semifinal hurdle after losing their respective semifinal matches of World 6-Red Snooker Championship to Indian Pankaj Advani and Chinese Yan Bingtao here Tuesday at Movenpick hotel.

Fifteen-year-old Chinese prodigy Bingtao overpowered the celebrated local cueist Asif by 5-4 sets to enter the summit clash of the big event. The comprehensive scores were 03-51, 0-71(71), 0-46, 48-0, 13-48, 32-20, 67-30, 68-40, 47-07.

Meanwhile, an experienced Advani thrashed Asjad in the same manner by 5-4 sets to make it the final. The comprehensive scores were 04-51, 07-56, 46-0, 36-01, 40-14, 10-53, 39-17, 0-59, 52-14.

Honk Kong’s Ng On Yee thrashed Indian Vidya Pillai by 5-2 sets in the summit clash to clinch women’s event title. The complete score-line was 44-0, 36-02, 37-07, 46-11, 07-39, 01-38, 37-06.
