Pakistan’s foreign reserves reach $18,500.8 million

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday said that the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$18,500.8 million on 18 September 2015. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan reached US$13,496.2 million; Net foreign reserves held by banks stood at US$5,004.6 million; while total liquid foreign reserves were recorded at US$ 18,500.8 million.

During the week ending 18 September 2015, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$194 million to US$13,496 million, compared to US$13,690 million in the previous week. Decrease in reserves is on account of external debt servicing during the week.
