Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves

KARACHI:,,, The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $13,571.2 million on 13June2014.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $ 8,669.3 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : $ 4,901.9 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : $ 13,571.2 million

During the week ending 13June2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $56 million to $8,669 million compared $8,613 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is primarily due to multilateral, bilateral, and other official receipts amounting to $24.0 million.

During the week ending 13June2014, SBP has made other official payments of US$18 million from its reserves.
