Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday extended the remand of an accused Ahmed Khan to police custody for 14-day in a murder case of Parveen Rehman.
Police produced the accused before ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused as he was required for further investigation. The court accepted police request and extended the remanded all accused to their custody till 19th April.
According to the prosecution, the accused was arrested on 19 March 2015 in a joint operation conducted by Karachi and Mansehra police. The accused was in police’s custody from 24th March to 6th April.
The social activist Parveen Rehman who was the director of Orangi pilot project was gunned down on 13 March 2013 when armed men targeted her near Banaras fly over.
A case FIR 104/13 was registered at Pirabad police station under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34(common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with section of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
