KARACHI: Pasban-e-Pakistan Karachi President Shaikh Mohammad Shakeel on Wednesday demanded that the police should be purged from the black sheep, who are the source of disgrace for police.
In a statement, he said that previous day, a 70-year-old social worker, Mama Mohammad Abbas of Sajjan Goth, Mawach informed Paban Helpline that on the night between November 8 and 9, police in plain clothes entered a house through a ladder and harassed inmates, ransacked household items, looted cash, a motorcycle, four goats, one sheep, a water pump and other items and threatened the inmates to keep their mouth closed.
In morning, the affected family on the advice of neighbors informed Saeedabad police station. However, the head Muharrar of the police station told them that SHO was not present, so they should visit in evening.
In the evening when they visited the police station along with social worker Mama Abbas, the police put Mama Abbas in lockup and forced other complainants to leave the police station, harassing and misbehaving them.
Pasban Helpline through fax informed Governor House, Chief Minister House, IG Police Sindh and additional IGP Karachi.
On this, the Saeedabad police became angered and a bogus FIR number 130/14 was lodged against Mama Abbas at 10:20 pm. Shakeel said the federal and provincial governments were spending billions of rupees on improving law and order situation, but the blacksheep in Sindh were all set to foil these efforts of government.
He said due to these blacksheep, there was hatred against the police among general public. He demanded of the government to make efforts to purge the police force from the blacksheep. He said if the government did not take action against these blacksheep, the law and order situation in Karachi would further go deteriorated.
He demanded of the Sindh government and police authorities to take notice of this robbery by police and quash the bogus FIR against Mama Mohammad Abbas and return the looted goods to the affected family and take legal action against the policemen involved in this incident.
