PAT holds protest outside KPC

KARACHI: Leaders of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Tuesday held protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club against police for not arresting culprits of Model Town incident and regretted the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report.

The protestors were carrying placards and banners, raised the slogans against the Punjab government.

Addressing the participants, senior vice president PAT Dr SM Zameer said Model Town incident is the black chapter of the history and the government was responsible for this brutality. He asked that “If government is not involved in the heinous crime then why did the affectees not get the justice.” He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif talks about the matter of Baldia Town incident then why does he not talk about Model Town incident.

He said eight months had been passed to the incident, not a single arrest made. He demanded that the case should be tried in military court.

PAT human rights chairperson Sherly Valika during her address, regretted the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report and demanded for impartial investigation. She alleged JIT was not made to arrest the culprits but to save them.

PAT Chief coordinator Sindh Qazi Zahid said government was responsible for shedding the blood of innocent people in Lahore.

President Karachi chapter Liaquat Kazmi said government was supporting terrorists in Karachi.
