Patients suffer as CHK elevator goes faulty

Karachi: The patients suffering from different diseases have been facing hardships as the elevator of four-storied building of Civil Hospital Karachi has been out of order for last one week. Due to non working of the elevator shifting patients from emergency to other departments has become very difficult.

Those suffering particularly included the patients of Kidney, Surgical Ward 3,4,5, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology Ward 1 to 3 and newly established Intestine Ward are facing hardships. The visiting patients and attendants have demanded of the hospital administration for early repair of theelevator.

Additional Medical Superintendent (General) CHK Abdul Qadir Siddiqui, when contacted, said elevator’s panel went out of order a few days back and the administration has already contacted with contractor company for its early repair.

He informed there is no shortage of fund for repair of elevator. He hoped that elevator would be made functional within two or three days.
