KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Saqib Ahmed Soomro said despite of financial constraints in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, preference was being given to payment of employees’ salaries, pensions and purchase of petrol, diesel and feed for animals of zoological garden.
“Timely payment of employees’ salaries has started after bringing improvement in the administrative affairs. Efforts are on to solve other problems also,” he said while talking to Vice President Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi Division Fareed Ansari and President of United Labor Union Qamar-uz-Zafar Khan at his office.
The administrator Karachi said to overcome the financial crisis efforts were being made to improve the recovery condition. Termination of ghost employees would help in the improvement process.
He said the problems of KMC and Karachi Development Authority employees would be solved as he himself was trying to increase their privileges. He urged the officers to work for enhancement of revenue resources.
Soomro said an inquiry into the matter of ghost employees in education department was being made and huge success was expected very soon.
He said all such employees would have to be expelled which would help saving the resources and payment to staff salaries and pensions.
Khan told the administrator about the problems of employees and demanded payment of staff salary and pension by the 10th of every month.
