LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, , while greeting the nation on the occasion of Eidul Azha, has said that the survival and prosperity of Pakistan lay in Islam alone.
He said that the nation would have to rise again for the fulfillment of the pledge it had made to Almighty Allah at the time of the creation of Pakistan and added that as long as the nation did not honour their commitment, peace and prosperity would remain a dream. He said the JI would hold a countrywide Ijtema at the Minar e Pakistan from November 21, to revive the Pakistan movement spirit.
Sirajul Haq noted that the tribal people of North Waziristan had been displaced from their home and hearth for the last four months but the government had neither made any arrangement for their return to their homes nor was it in any way worried about this problem despite the repeated announcements by the armed forces that 80 per cent of the North Waziristan had been cleared.
He further said that in the Punjab and Azad Kashmir, lakhs of people had been hit by the heavy rains and floods, crops over millions of acres besides thousands of cattle head had been washed away. He urged the people to keep in mind the miseries of the IDPs and their flood affected brethren and share their Eid festivities with them as well.
On the occasion, the JI chief also drew the nation’s attention to the prolonged struggle of the Kashmiris, the Palestinians and the Muslims in other parts of the world. He said that Israel had been perpetrating unprecedented atrocities over the Palestinians of Gaza but the so called champion of liberties and human rights had never raised their voice in support of the Palestinians.
The JI chief said that the India herself had closed her eyes to the heavy losses caused by the floods in Held Kashmir and had not even allowed international relief bodies to come to the Muslim’s help there due to which over ten million Kashmiri Muslims had been living in miserable conditions.
Sirajul Haq said that at present, the country and the nation were facing serious crisis. Instead of providing relief to the masses in line with their election promises, the rulers had added to their miseries and rubbed salt on their wounds. Prices of the essential items were increasing with every passing day and the general public looked disappointed.
The JI chief said that the US, in spite of its total defeat, was not prepared to pull out completely from Afghanistan and wanted control over the natural resources of the region. He US wanted to build India as regional policeman in order to contain China. Therefore, he said, the nation must remain vigilant and stop the rulers from accepting the slavery of the US, the IMF, the World Bank besides India’s supremacy in the region.
