People urged to cooperate with traffic police

KARACHI: In view of predicted heavy rains and storm as result of approaching cyclone ‘Nilofer’ on either late Wednesday night or Thursday, traffic police Karachi have ensured all possible precautionary measures to facilitate citizens.

This was cited by deputy inspector general of traffic police Dr Amir Ahmad Sheikh on Wednesday.

He further said that emergency has been declared in all five districts of traffic and all staff members have been put on alert, adding that they would remain on duty during rains. “They would facilitate the flow of traffic by lifting stuck vehicles through recovery vehicles and lifters in different areas of the city,” he further added.

Moreover, he said that the traffic police officers on motorcycles would also conduct patrolling to ensure traffic order.

He appealed people to cooperate with traffic police to maintain the traffic flow.
