Peshawar blast: IGP orders strict security in Sindh

KARACHI: In view of Peshawar blast, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday issued directives to officials concerned to ensure security measures under the contingency plan for airport, railway stations, bus terminals, shopping centers, public places, sensitive buildings, commercial and industrial areas in the metropolis.

According to a statement issued by police department, IGP directed that the police mobiles patrolling, picketing and snap checking should be ensured in and outside Karachi.

He further instructed to officials that the searching process to be made more effective at the city’s all entrance and exit points at the police station level. He said that the security should be ensured along the central routes of the province and super highway.

IGP instructed that police should care law-abiding citizens; otherwise, strict proceedings would be initiated against the violators of the law.
