Karachi: The management and staff of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) have expressed their deep sorrow over the death of former Olympian Shahzada Syed Shahrukh.
In a condolence message the PHF President Brig. (retd) Mohammad Khalid S. Khokhar and Secretary General Shahbaz Ahmad Senior said that Shahrukh’s demise was a great loss to the hockey fraternity.
They prayed that Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Both Khalid S. Khokhar and Shahbaz Senior said that Shahrukh was one of the pioneers of the game of hockey in Pakistan who was the vice-captain of the Pakistan’s first ever hockey team that participated in the Olympics-1948.
Shahrukh was not only a brilliant player but also widely esteemed person, who inspired the incoming hockey generation with his style and jovial nature. After quitting hockey he also brought laurels for Pakistan in cycling as well.
