Phutti prices down in lower Sindh

Pangrio, Sindh: The prices of Phutti are down as cotton traders of Punjab have temporarily stopped buying from lower Sindh markets.

Due to crisis in textile sector due to closure of gas, demos in Islamabad and Eid holidays the cotton traders of Punjab have temporarily stopped buying Phutti from local markets; therefore, the Phutti is being sold at the rate of Rs2400 per Maund here.

Local cotton growers said this rate us unreasonably low and they are incurring losses and the production cost of cotton growing has risen substantially. They said due to lack of competition the local Phutti buyers are offering growers very low rates. They requested the provincial government of Sindh to take notice of this exploitation of growers and dole out justice to them.
