PM announces to 16th December as  ‘Qaumi Azm-e-Taleem Day’

Peshawar: Prime Minister Mohammad  Nawaz Sharif announced on Wednesday announce to  observe December 16 as ‘Qaumi Azm-e-Taleem Day’ every year as nation’s tribute to Army Public School martyrs while he promised to establish Army Public School University in Peshawar  to remember the martyrs of Army Public School.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who along with Chief of Army Staff , chief ministers of all four provinces, cabinet members, chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami  Sirajul Haq,  vice chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri along with other political leadership of the country were present to mark the first anniversary of  the APS martyrs.

PM while addressing the function said that he is present in the college with sadden heart saying that he would not let go waste a single drop of the blood of the martyrs students. “The blood of the innocent martyrs united the nation saying that Pakistani nation and this was the blood the students that political leadership has decided to firmly attack the terrorists and eliminate them .

He said he can understand the pain the parents therefore he on the day of the occurrence of such big incident has decided that the cruel and Inhuman would be not be spared and peace would be establish in the country. “The day is near when complete peace would be establish and  light would spread through education,” he said.

Paying tributes to the martyrs of APS, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif said armed forces are sharing their blood with the blood the APS martyrs to eliminate terrorism. “We have passed new laws and National Action Plan is being implemented and terrorists are being punished for their heinous crime,” he said adding that Armed forces is waging a valiant campaign against terrorism under the leadership of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and completely eliminating the terrorists. “Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the back of terror outfits” he said.

Before the Prime Minister address he and chief ministers of four provinces and Gilgit Baltistan and Governor KP  honorary medals among the bereaved families. parents and family members of the martyrs were present in huge number in the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharif said that government is committed to root out terrorism from the country and that the sacrifices of innocent martyrs would not go in vain.

Meanwhile, all the federal educational institutions are observing Martyrs of Army Public School Day, while public holiday has been declared in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Various organizations are holding functions including rallies, seminars, and symposia to pay homage to the martyrs.

Pakistanis living abroad are also observing the day and holding special functions.

In honour of the fallen souls, the premier has approved to rename 122 schools and colleges of the Islamabad Capital Territory after martyrs of Army Public School.

The government has also announced to rename 10 schools in Punjab while 5 in FATA in the memory of the martyred students.
