PM chairs meeting on power projects

Islamabad: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting at the PM’s House here Thursday to review progress on ongoing power projects.

Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Mohammad Asif; Federal Minister for Petroleum, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi; Special Assistant to PM, Mr. Musadiq Malik and Secretary to PM, Mr. Javaid Aslam attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister was briefed about the status of ongoing projects in various parts of the country and the likely availability of power in the coming months. He was also apprised of the completion timelines of coal and gas based projects.

The Prime Minister directed both the ministries to fast track the implementation process, keeping in view the hardship being faced by the people, while upholding high standards of transparency.

He stressed that focus should be on both availability and affordability of power for the people of Pakistan.
